Education/Outreach at New Hope Lutheran Church
Children’s Sunday School
We hold our children’s Sunday School after the children’s sermon during our Sunday service. All children who wish to attend Sunday School, go down to the Sunday School room during the adult’s Sermon and come back up following their lesson.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a two-year period for students to learn about the Christian faith and the Lutheran Confessions. Depending on rotation, one year is spent on The Bible
and a second year is spent studying Luther’s Small Catechism. Confirmation Instruction is every Sunday
morning following the morning worship service and usually takes place in the home of the Instructor. Please contact us if you have a 7th or 8th Grader you would like to have learn more about their faith.
Children’s Youth Night
On Wednesday Nights from 6:15 to 7:30pm at the First Congregational Church [UCC] in Onaga – we share a ministry to have a youth night for Onaga. We have children from the age of 4 to 12th grade come and have dinner together and then split into age appropriate classes where we discuss and learn about the Bible.
Adult Study
Adult studies have varied from “Bible 101” – an introduction to the Bible to the use of movies and TV shows to discuss theology and faith. Beginning in January of 2020 we will be rotating monthly between a biblical figure and using contemporary media (i.e.The Simpsons, etc.) to talk about history, faith, and theology. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at 6:00pm. Popcorn is served. These are open to any who would like to attend. No RSVP’s are necessary.
